2017 PUCC Conference was a Huge Success
This past March, PM Pediatrics and the Society for Pediatric Urgent Care hosted its 3rd Annual Pediatric Urgent Care Conference in New Orleans at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel. The international conference is designed to improve the clinical and procedural skills of caregivers of all levels, as well as provide a foundation for the necessary tools of running a successful pediatric urgent care practice.
The 2017 three-day conference (March 29-31) was a huge success, attracting over 125 attendees and 16 exhibitors, including participants from Australia, New Zealand, the Bahamas, Barbados and the United Kingdom.
PUCC 2017 kicked off with a one-day pre-conference that offered two concurrent tracks:
- How to Open Your Own Urgent Care, and
- The Basics: Pediatric Urgent Care for the Non-Pediatric Provider
Day two and day three featured three concurrent tracks:
- Core Concepts,
- Emerging Concepts and Controversies, and
- Practice Management
Conference lectures were supplemented with small group discussions and workshops, which allowed for hands-on training of various clinical and procedural skills, including splinting, wound and suturing, and mock codes. To celebrate our PUCC 2017 conference participants and supporters, we held our very own Second Line Parade through the French Quarter, which ended with a reception at the famed BB Kings Blues Club. All enjoyed a fun-filled evening of great southern cooking and phenomenal live music.
