Pre-Course Leadership Summit - September 21, 2016
The Society for Pediatric Urgent Care presents its second annual Urgent Care Conference, September 21-23 in Atlanta Georgia. The first day, September 21 is the Leadership summit. Leaders in Pediatric urgent Care and Emergency Medicine will update us on the state of the field of Pediatric Urgent Care. Presenters will provide insight into becoming a leader, will discuss the how tos of setting up an urgent care and the aids that make life easier for the urgent care provider. Short sessions will also update attendees on ongoing research and the formation of SPUC’s task force on accreditation and certification. Networking begins immediately afterward with a welcome reception for all conference attendees.
The last two days will be filled with clinical updates and hands-on workshops. We will hear from experts in the fields of Radiology, Sports Medicine, Allergy, Cardiology, and Infectious Disease. The workshops will provide updates and hands-on time with experts in technology, new “apps” for Urgent Care practice, Pediatric Dentistry, Sports Medicine, and how to provide pain-free care to our patients.
There will also be time to visit with colleagues and members of the Board of Directors of SPUC. This will include an evening dinner out with members of the board. Children’s Hospital of Atlanta is offering tours of their urgent care facilities on Friday afternoon. Advance registration and a small fee will be required. This all takes place in a great venue at the Westin Atlanta Buckhead.

The 2016 Pediatric Urgent Care Conference in New York City was a success. More than 100 attendees participated in three days of hands-on workshops and talks from nationally recognized experts in Pediatric Urgent Care.
