SPUC 12th Annual Conference
March 11 - 14, 2026

Welcome

We are delighted to welcome you to Seattle for SPUC’s 12th Annual Conference, March 12-14, 2026, hosted by Seattle Children's and held at the Seattle Children's Research Institute.  This is an opportunity to advance our shared commitment to excellence in pediatric urgent care through expert podium presentations and evidence-based learning.

On Wednesday, March 11th we hope you will join us for the Pre-course Leadership Summit that begins at 1:30 pm with important topics including identifying QI opportunities, improving EHR efficiency within your group, employee engagement and building psychological safety.  There will also be a panel discussion on balancing staffing, scheduling and satisfaction in Urgent Care. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions with each of these topics.

The main conference will begin on Thursday, March 12th with the very relevant topic of antibiotic stewardship presented by Dr. Jason Newland, a pediatric Infectious Disease specialist from Nationwide Children's.  We will offer two and a half days of CME with a broad range of topics that have been tailored for urgent care. The topics include toxicology, updates in wound repair, review of vaccine preventable illnesses, rheumatology, dental emergencies, emergent foreign bodies, head injuries, male genitourinary complaints, the limping child, a journal club selection of articles from the year, and interesting cases from urgent care.

There will be various workshops including a hands-on orthopedic splinting workshop, suturing, and foreign body removal techniques. There will also be a workshop setting class for a review of the ophthalmologic exam with simple eye procedures and the head-to-toe exam for non-accidental trauma. We will offer an opportunity to tour one of the Seattle Children's Urgent Care clinics as well. On Thursday, attendees have the chance to walk around and view colleagues' posters at the Welcome Reception with Exhibits.  On Friday, March 13, a podium presentation of the top posters and the Mike Moran Scholar Award winning poster will be presented.

Seattle offers plenty of attractions to enjoy, including a lively waterfront. Be sure to sign up for the SPUC harbor sunset cruise on Friday night.  We are delighted to partner with Seattle Children's to offer this educational CME opportunity.  We look forward to an engaging and productive conference experience with you.

Sincerely,
