SPUC’s 11th Annual Conference, March 13-15, 2025, is hosted by Children's Mercy Kansas City in their beautiful new Research Institute, home to one of the most progressive and dynamic pediatric research programs in the world https://www.childrensmercy.org/childrens-mercy-research-institute/about/.
Plan to arrive on Wednesday, March 12 for the Precourse Leadership Summit (1:00-6:00 pm) for important topics that include faculty and staff development, discussion about efficiency in Urgent Care, nurse-only visits, and transforming negativity in the work environment. There will be interactive panel discussions and podium presentations during this session.
The main conference will kick off on Thursday, March 13 with the hot topic of Social Determinants of Health in Urgent Care by Dr. Brillant Nimmer from Children’s Wisconsin. We will offer two and a half days of CME with a broad range of topics covering orthopedic care, dermatology, infectious disease, genitourinary complaints, ophthalmology, altered mental status, and patient experience.
There will also be various workshops including a hands-on orthopedic splinting workshop, review of burn care, suturing and evaluating EKGs. In addition to these presentations, there are topics specifically for Urgent Care nursing colleagues including normal and traumatic findings on a sexual assault exam, nursing development and patient experience. There will be an opportunity for attendees to walk around and view colleagues' posters at the Welcome Reception with Exhibits on Thursday, March 13. On Friday, March 14, a podium presentation of the top posters and the Mike Moran Scholar Award winning poster will be presented.
Kansas City and Children's Mercy promises to be a great venue for SPUC’s 11th Annual Conference. We are excited about offering this educational CME opportunity and we look forward to seeing everyone there.
