Bio
Becky Southworth, MBA, BSN, RN is an experienced Director with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and health care industry for over 30 years. She is the founding Director of Simulation for Cook Children's Healthcare System. The Simulation Program began in 2009 and Becky has created a team focused on supporting system initiatives using innovative technologies that positively impact interdisciplinary training encompassing cognitive, psychomotor, communication and critical thinking skills. As the simulation expert she sits on multiple hospital committees, task forces, and councils creating simulation education plans that are specific to improving patient safety, quality, and key strategic initiatives, such as Zero Harm, decreasing hospital acquired conditions, and assisting Cook Children's Health Care System to be the employer of choice for a highly engaged workforce. In 2018 the Simulation Program had over 10,000 unique learner experiences and completed over 20,000 hours of training and education which included orientation, competency, certifications, and clinical development.
