Helane Fronek initially practiced internal medicine and specialized in venous disorders in 1985. She is past president of the American Society of Vein and Lymphatic Medicine, the largest medical organization devoted to vein care in the United States, and was the first recipient of its prestigious Leadership Award. As Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSD, she teaches communication, ethics, and professionalism. In 2009, she trained as a Co-Active Coach and holds certifications from the International Coach Federation, Coaches Training Institute and the Physician Coaching Institute. She works primarily with physicians wishing to regain their passion for the practice of medicine and achieve balance in their lives. Through working with Helane, physicians learn to see their strengths clearly, examine their limiting assumptions, and recognize their own power in authoring their lives. As they see possibilities they didn't see before, they are able to create ! lives that fulfill and thrill them.
