Getting Ready for SPUC 2018!

We are excited to announce the 2018 Annual Conference for SPUC. This year’s meeting will be hosted by Nemours Children’s Hospital, October 5-7. The meeting will open with a Precourse Leadership Summit held at the nearby Resident’s Inn on Thursday, October 4. Nemours Children’s Hospital is hosting the meetings and workshops as well as providing an opportunity to tour the Lake Nona Nemours Urgent Care site during the SPUC conference.
The Leadership Summit has grown in popularity. As a result, the summit will be a full day program in Orlando. Keynote Speaker for the leadership summit is Jason North, Managing Director of Merchant Medicine, LLC. Several interactive sessions will follow his address. These sessions will include highly requested topics including current practice regulations, MOC step wise approach and opportunities as well as how to make a living in the world of urgent care medicine.
Dr. Virginia Moyer, Vice President with the American Board of Pediatrics, will open our general session on October 5 as Keynote Speaker. She will be discussing the current status for Maintenance of Certification in Pediatrics and new changes to the 2019 curriculum requirements of interest to anyone requiring recertification in Pediatrics. The CME conference this year will offer popular clinical topics including Emergency Preparedness., Telemedicine, Dermatology and Infectious Disease. Workshops will include Splinting and Orthopedic Care as well as Suturing. We are also incredibly excited about participants having the opportunity to register for a simulation session for MOC credit. Our goal is to provide both educational clinical lectures as well as active participation in hands-on workshops.
Posters will be presented as podium sessions and there will be plenty of time for networking and visiting some of the local attractions in Orlando. Conference Registration and Lodging information will soon be available on our website and in the Mobile Meeting Guide.
