The AAP Subcommittee on Urgent Care, currently within the Section of Emergency Medicine, is working on a proposal to establish ourselves as an independent section within the AAP in hopes of growing our visibility, membership, and services to pediatric professionals who manage acute injury and illness of pediatric patients in an urgent care setting.
We have four workgroups who are actively supporting this endeavor: education, advocacy/communication, standards/benchmarking, and research.
We encourage anyone who is an AAP member to join this subcommittee and help support the developing field that is "pediatric urgentology". Becoming an AAP member within this subcommittee is another great way to get involved!
To join the subcommittee or any of the work groups please email Sue Tellez (stellez@aap.org)
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to one of us within the AAP Subcommittee on Urgent Care:
