Margaret “Peg” Orcutt-Tuddenham visits with Emma Jordan, Paul Harding and Dr. Ciara Martin, November, 2017 in Ireland
On Tuesday Nov 14th I had the honor of speaking to the professionals of the National Children’s Health Group at the Tallagh Hospital in Dublin Ireland. Dr. Ciara Martin and head nurse Yvonne Doyle attended the SPUC meeting in Seattle, and extended the invitation for this exchange.
They are in the deep planning phase of building a brand new Children’s Hospital and Urgent Care(s). As a representative of SPUC, I addressed the core concepts of Pediatric Urgent Care: The uniqueness of the practice model, issues relating to Scope of Practice, Flow, patient and family satisfaction and workforce satisfiers.
The audience, composed of physicians, APRNs, RNs and administrators, was wonderfully receptive and asked many thought provoking and insightful questions. Discussions ranged from qualifications of providers, appropriate staffing mix to nuts and bolts of room design and capacity. The evening concluded with dinner at an Irish pub where the above photo was taken.
Hopefully the Dublin Group will be able to share their exciting progress at our next annual meeting in Orlando!
