Bio

Jill Obremskey is a physician executive who most recently joined a rapidly growing startup company, Frist Care, who provides urgent care services to rural communities in Kentucky.  As CMO, she has brought them her administrative expertise as well as her passion for quality and safety.  She has worked collaboratively with the executive team to improve orientation and training, peer chart reviews, and systems and processes to assure quality and safe care is provided daily.

In 2014, she joined the executive team at Centennial Medical Center as The Children’s Hospital CMO.  Dr. Obremskey was responsible for overseeing clinical quality initiatives.  She led many high performing teams to develop foundational processes, policies and procedures based on evidence based medicine and clinical practice guidelines to assure the safe and quality care of pediatric patients seen at The Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Obremskey holds a Doctor of Medicine from The University of North Carolina; a Master’s of Management in Healthcare from the Vanderbilt Owen School of Management and is board certified in pediatrics after completing her residency at Seattle Children’s Hospital, she completed her coursework in a Masters of Public Health Program in Maternal and Child Health at the University of Washington School of Public Health and participated in The Institute for Healthcare Improvement Quality Programs.

Dr. Obremskey’s extensive healthcare experience began in 1994 as a pediatrician for a managed care organization in a multispecialty group engaging in various health management committees and providing inpatient and outpatient care. For a total of 10 years, she was a partner in a primary care pediatric practice in an urban setting before moving to Nashville.  She then became an attending at Vanderbilt Children’s pediatric emergency department in 2002 rising to the position of Assistant Professor.

As the medical director for the emergency department fast track, Dr. Obremskey recognized the need for improvement in the delivery of care in the pediatric emergency department.  She developed a system to manage lower acuity patients.. Dr. Obremskey grew a staff of physicians overseeing medical staff quality and implemented multiple initiatives including physician report cards.  She also worked with the school of nursing to develop credentialing, training and scope of practice guidelines for nurse practitioners.

Dr. Obremskey also became the medical director for a new service line at Vanderbilt in 2011, the Pediatric After-Hours Clinics.  She spearheaded the development of these clinics to assure clinical quality and operational efficiency. Working with those in information technology, she developed a means to capture data and create dashboards in order to follow trends and implement change. She built upon her established relationships with community pediatricians to assure trust in the mission to provide quality care, maintain communication with primary care physicians and to support the medical home.
