Bio

Dr. Michael Keating has been the director of the division of pediatric urology at the Florida Hospital for Children since 2010. He attended the University of Notre Dame before matriculating at the Medical College of Ohio in 1980. His training in general urology was completed at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. This was followed by fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital at the Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Keating spent nearly a decade in academic medicine at both at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Indiana University of Medicine, where he became a tenured professor. He is an internationally recognized expert in his field, having written more than 100 manuscripts and chapters in peer-reviewed journals and the field’s best-known texts. He has also served as a visiting professor at numerous medical schools both in this country and abroad but finds his greatest reward in teaching through simplifying the complexities of pediatric urology for primary care providers.

After more than twenty years in Orlando, Dr. Keating has established one of Central Florida’s best-known and busiest subspecialty practices. He is currently a professor at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and has a special interest in mentoring medical students.

Dr. Keating has been married to his lovely wife, Nancy, for 36 years and is the father of four children. He has two grandsons, about whom he offers much advice. His outside interests include reading (especially history and biographies), gardening and movie-going.
